The Countdown Begins!

I have some of the best memories of advent calendars growing up- moving the mouse, unwrapping chocolate, and revealing the surprise image. I was asked to make a sample at work using this countdown calendar. I had so much fun I had to make this one for my niece and nephew using the Karen Foster countdown calendar and Imaginisce papers and embellishments, oh and don't forget Stickles! It was so much fun. I'm thinking we need one for us too. Anyways, can't wait to fill it with candies and small surprises.

Owl Lamp

So I liked this lamp (without a shade), and as I looked for a shade I discovered they didn't really have what I was looking for, so I would have to make something of my own. So, I started collecting owl stamps (by Hero Arts and Sassafras Lass) a while back, because I think they're pretty cute. So I just cut the muslin and stamped all over it with different pigment inks. I ironed it afterwards, covered the lamp with a spray adhesive, and put it all together. Once I had it on there I just used wonder tape to add the trim. I had a lot of fun making it, and now we've got something to sit on our pretty sweet table in the entry way!

First Post: Camera Play

Okay so I decided to start a blog, so I can share my photography and scrapbooking pages (and other creations I may come up with) with my friends, family, and other people that may be interested in these same things.

So I decided I would love to be a photographer because it's just something I've always loved, and I figured there was no better time to get started. I bought a camera, and finally got the chance to use it for the first time this weekend. Here are just a few of the 900 pictures I took of my niece and nephew. They are adorable. After coming back from the park with tons of pictures of Kennedy, I decided to take some of Isaac. She comes up to me and says, "Lyn, how come you're not taking pictures of me."

This girl loves her aunt Toni.
